Overview

NoForgetDict helps you look up, save, and review English words. This policy explains what information is stored on your device and what information may be sent to our backend when you use the app.

Information stored on your device

Saved words, review progress, and personal notes are stored locally on your device. NoForgetDict uses local storage for the core word list and review experience.

Information sent to our backend

When you look up a word, the app may send the word or phrase, your selected translation language, and an anonymous device identifier to our backend. The anonymous device identifier is used to apply the daily AI lookup limit.

AI explanations and caching

Our backend may send the word or phrase to OpenAI to generate a dictionary explanation. Generated explanations may be cached in Supabase so repeated lookups can load faster and avoid unnecessary AI requests.

AI-generated content

AI-generated explanations may occasionally contain mistakes or incomplete information.

Daily lookup limit

NoForgetDict uses an anonymous device identifier to count new AI lookups for the daily limit. Cached lookups and saved-word review features may still work without creating a new AI lookup.

Accounts and payments

Some optional services, such as account-based sync or premium features, may require account or payment information. When those services are used, NoForgetDict only requests the information needed to provide them.
